Interests and Activites
I really enjoy all the arts especially singing and dancing, actually anything to do with music. I love being in choir every day, as well as my out of school Bollywood singing lessons. I have been at it for almost ten years now. At school I'm in fourth period Chamber Singers Choir; I've actively been in choir since I was a tiny fourth grader. I am also an accomplished black belt in Taekwondo. I practiced for three years at the dojang Chang Lee's Taekwondo in Keller before moving to Flower Mound. Taekwondo was a really exceptional sport in helping me relieve stress and build confidence. Some clubs I take part in at school are Student Council and Future Medical Leaders Club. I also enjoy other simple pleasures like hanging out with my friends, going to a movie, or solely getting a good laugh. :)
Accomplishments
Over the years, I have participated in various things, gathering accolades along the way. Just under a year ago, I was celebrating my hard-earned black belt in Taekwondo. It took me a good three years and a tiring one week of testing to achieve my goal. It taught me to never underestimate myself, even if I am only 5’2’’ and trying to break eight boards with my hands and feet. I also participated in the middle school and high school all-region competition for choir and did pretty well in both. I have also maintained a straight A average throughout the years in school. Last year, I qualified for a challenging statewide science competition called TMSCA in San Antonio. I am proud to say I ended up getting 21st place. I am very blessed to have received all of these awards and have accomplished so many wonderful things, but I don’t just do everything for the prize. I take part in what I’m interested in and I can't wait for more.
Beliefs
I believe that all people should be treated equally; one should not judge another based on religion, ethnicity, or gender. We need to value and respect each other and our ideas because all PEOPLE (not just men) were created equal. We cannot let little differences such as skin color define who we are and what we think. We have to find the good in people and embrace the differences. It is not until people put themselves in another person's perspective will we finally understand each other. I truly believe that we, the people, need to work together to make the world a better place. As Gandhi once said, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” I want to see equality in the world, so I have to make an impact on the world starting now.
Heroes and Heroines
My mother is my true hero. She does so much for me to make sure I will have a good future and that I am safe. She is always there for me and teaches me something new every day. I honestly don’t know what I would do without her; my mom is my rock. She is there for moral support when I need a shoulder to cry on. She has my back when I need someone to carry me out of a bad day. She’s there with her solemn face when I need a friend to laugh with. She went through four pregnancy losses and worked so hard to bring me into this world, so I hope I can repay her by making her proud one day.
Pet Peeves
There a few things in the world that I absolutely HATE when people do them. I cannot stand the sound of shoes scraping on a concrete sidewalk. The sound gives me the jitters just thinking about it. I also don’t like lound noises such as gum smacking or heavy breathing while I’m trying to focus on something. I also despise the people that constantly interrupt or ignore while I’m trying to talk to them. It makes me feel like they don’t care about what I have to say. I’m also not a big fan of when a person chews with their mouth open or bites on their straw until its flat on the top. Another thing that messes with my head quite a bit, is a person who thinks they are “better” because they’re “too good” or “too smart” for eveybody else, so basically people that are bratty and braggy. If you’re smart, that’s great, but you don’t have to be in my face about it, be humble. I’m not quite sure why I can’t stand these things...
Future Goals
I want to be successful and satisfied in the future, but most of all, I want to be happy. I plant on graduating high school (hopefully with straight A’s) and getting accepted into a decent college where I can get a good higher education and at the same time enjoy college life. I am interested in the medical field, so I want to go to medical school to become a dermatologist. I want to make enough money to live a plentiful life, but I know money does not buy happiness. I want to live life to its fullest, and make every day a new adventure. Of course all good things must come to an end… One day, I’ll have to get married, have children, and take on new responsibilities of my own, although I am looking forward to the freedom. After several years, I plan on retiring when I become old enough, and living out the rest of my life always being loved and happy. I never want to stop loving because that is the glue that holds us together.
